Short answers about each SquadFin tool, plans and your privacy.

Questions

What is SquadFin?
A set of simple tools for keeping commitments clear between people: Giving, Settle, Share and Events for you and your family; Pledge for faith and community organizations; and Resolve for practices, firms and freelancers. SquadFin keeps records, plans and reminders. The money never passes through us.
Do payments ever go through SquadFin?
No. You and other people pay each other the way you already do. SquadFin never connects to a bank account, card or payment app, and blocks card, account and payment-app details if they're typed in by mistake.
How do I choose which tools I see?
When you sign up, tell us what you need help with and we switch on the matching tools. You can add or remove tools at any time from your SquadFin home under “Choose your products”. Turning a tool off hides it; your records stay until you delete them.
Do the people I share links with need an account?
Usually not. Settle agreements, Events and Pledge pages, and Resolve links all open without an account. Family members joining a Share group sign in with a free account so they can add costs.
Which currencies can I use?
Any of more than 150 national currencies. Loans, groups, collections, pledge organizations, individual gifts and Resolve workspaces each have their own currency.
Can I add my own currency?
Yes. Choose “+ Add a custom currency…” in any currency list and give it a short name — for example points, vouchers or a currency we don't list. You can keep up to 20, and remove them from Account & privacy.
Does SquadFin convert between currencies?
No. SquadFin never converts amounts. Totals are shown per currency, so gifts or balances in different currencies are listed side by side instead of being added together.
How do I set my usual currency?
In Account & privacy, pick a preferred currency. New loans, groups, collections and gifts start in it, and you can still change the currency on each one.
How do I add a gift?
Open Giving and choose “Add a gift”. Enter the amount, who it went to, the date and a category (Family, Friends, Faith or Charity). Turn on “Tax-deductible” if you have, or can get, a receipt from a registered charity or religious organization.
Can I edit or delete a gift?
Yes. Select the gift in Gifts or on the Overview to open it, then save your changes or choose Delete.
How do goals work?
With SquadFin Plus, set an amount for all your giving or one category and an end date. Gifts dated from 1 January of the year you set the goal count toward it. You can turn on a monthly progress email for each goal.
How does receipt reading work?
With SquadFin Plus, choose “Read a receipt” and upload a PDF, photo or CSV of a receipt, giving statement or bank export. Giving suggests the gifts it finds; you tick the ones to add. The file is read once and not stored.
How is the tax saving estimated?
Your tax-deductible gifts for the year multiplied by a tax rate you enter in Reports. It's an estimate, not tax advice: whether and how much you can deduct depends on where you live, how you file and any limits that apply.
How do I get my records for tax time?
In Reports, download any year's gifts as a CSV file (free). With Plus, you can also download a printable year-end report; use your browser's Print → Save as PDF to keep a copy.
Can I see amounts in my own currency?
Yes. In Reports, choose your display currency. It applies on that device.
How does the other person see a Settle loan?
Open the loan and create a private link. They can view the plan, confirm it and note a repayment, which you then confirm. Replace or turn off the link at any time; the old link stops working immediately.
How does Share work out who owes what?
Each cost is split equally or by custom amounts. Share adds up what everyone has paid and owes and suggests the fewest payments needed to even up. When someone pays, record it as a settle-up.
Can people see what others pledged on an Events page?
No. Individual amounts are only visible to the organizer. You choose whether names and overall progress are shown.
What are the free limits?
On the free plan you can have 3 active Settle loans, 2 Share groups you own and 2 open Events collections at a time. SquadFin Plus removes these limits.
How do members pledge?
Share a campaign page. Members enter their name, amount and how often, and get a private link to view or change their pledge. No account needed.
How do I record gifts that arrive?
Open the campaign and choose Record next to a pledge. Gifts are recorded by your team; Pledge never collects donations.
How do I produce year-end statements?
Go to “Supporters & statements”, choose the year and print or save each member's statement. Add any wording your local tax rules require in Settings → Statement note.
What does the Community plan add?
Unlimited campaigns and supporters, up to five team members and optional monthly reminders to supporters with recurring pledges, for $19 a month or $190 a year per organization. Upgrade from your organization's Settings tab.
Do supporters get a copy of their pledge?
Yes. When a supporter gives their email on the campaign page, they get a confirmation with their private link to view, change or cancel their pledge. On Community, you can also turn on a monthly reminder for recurring pledges in Settings.
What does the person receiving a link see?
A private page with the balance, your organization's name and their options. They can review it and choose a path. Nothing they do is tied to their identity in SquadFin.
What do I need to enter for each link?
Your own reference (such as an account or invoice number), the amount and a message. Don't enter names, contact details or health or case information — Resolve is built so that data never reaches SquadFin.
How do plan limits work?
Plans limit active (unresolved) links and team seats. Marking a link resolved frees a slot. Free: 3 links, 1 seat; Solo: 25 links; Practice: 150 links, 3 seats; Business: unlimited links, 10 seats.
What do the plans cost?
Every tool starts free. SquadFin Plus is $4.99 a month or $39 a year. Pledge Community is $19 a month or $190 a year per organization. Resolve Solo is $12, Practice $49 and Business $149 a month, or $120, $490 and $1,490 a year. Yearly billing saves 35% on Plus and 17% (two months free) on the other plans. Paid Resolve plans include SquadFin Plus.
How do I pay?
Paid plans are paid on Stripe's secure checkout with a card or the wallet options Stripe offers in your country. SquadFin never sees or stores card details.
How do I change, cancel or get invoices?
Open your SquadFin home, find “Your plans” and choose “Manage billing”. Switch plan or between monthly and yearly right there; the difference is charged or credited straight away. “Manage billing” opens Stripe's billing portal to update your card, download invoices or cancel.
What happens when I cancel?
Your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. Then you're back on the free plan. Nothing is deleted; records over the free limits stay readable.
Can I get a refund?
Email support@squadfin.com with your account email and the plan. We review every request.
What data does SquadFin keep?
Your email, name and the records you add. We don't ask for bank logins, card numbers or contact details of the people in your records, and we never sell or share your data.
How do I turn on two-step sign-in?
On your SquadFin home, under Security, choose “Turn on”. Scan the code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy and others), enter the 6-digit code, and save your ten backup codes somewhere safe. Each backup code works once if you don't have your phone.
Which emails will I get, and how do I stop them?
Account and security emails are always sent. Reminders and summaries — Settle repayments, Share activity, new pledges, Resolve follow-ups and Giving goal updates — can each be switched off on your SquadFin home under Email, or with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them.
How do I change my email address?
On your SquadFin home, under Security, choose “Change email”. We send a link to the new address; your account switches once you open it, and we let your old address know.
How do I download or delete my data?
On your SquadFin home, under “Account & privacy”, download everything as a file or delete your account permanently (your password is required). Deleting your account cancels any paid plans.
How is my account protected?
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sign-in attempts are rate-limited, connections are encrypted and every request is checked against your access. Use a unique password you don't use elsewhere.
